Segment 1: India
First stop, INDIA!!! I’m going to be doing a quick little summary of our original India episode, and maybe even introducing you guys to more of the extremely fun and vibrant culture of India
Okay so too start lets talk avout ome our favorite snacks desserts and dishes from india. Lets go!!!
*Slam on breaks* So first, we’re gonna talk about one of my most favorite dishes of all time, biriyani. Biriyani is a flavorful rice dish that uses many spices to bring out the aromatic flavour of the rice. This dish can often inclide meats such as mutton, chicken, fish, and beef. This dish also many various vegetarian options
Next some of my favorite yummy snacks from India, mixture and murraka, or jaggery. These snacks are crunchy and made using a mix of ingredients. Mixture is crispy little pieces of fried dough with nuts and seasonings, while muurrak is a crunchy fried dough that's crispy and hard.
Finally some of the best desserts i’ve ever had. Im gonna start by talking about a SSUPER popular dessert, which is paysam, theres many different types of this dessert and many different have different regions for it, but it is generally a sweet rice pudding with nuts and raisins.
Before we a little trivia, im going to talk about one thing that is a very important part of indias culture, the street markets.India has grown more modern of the years, however they have never fully gotten rid of the shops and stands on the side of the roads. These sops often sell snacks and some veggies, but they also sell other thighs like hygiene items. Many of these stores can also have a large variety of clothes and jewelery. There are also kiosk like things thatsell yummy flavourfull dishes that they make right in front of you
Ok, so now we’re gonna do a little trivia, see if you know the right answer!

Segment 2: New York
Hey! My favorite place that talked about was New York! I will be summarizing the episode for you in this segment. Starting with some background information, New York is a very big city with many buildings and tall towers. Some places that you might have heard of is Browday, which is a big company that puts on many performances like musicals or plays. Now, moving onto the restaurants. I will be summarizing my favorite restaurant that we talked about. That restaurant is a Mediterranean restaurant called “Il Trapezino”. It is a European-Italian-based restaurant. There are triangular shaped bread pieces, with a choice of fillings that are plain with cheese and pepper, red sauce, and more, leaving you with a warm tasting dish for your day. It can be found at the lower east side, orchard street.
Now, street food in New York City! *Horn honking*
There's many delicious foods outside of restaurants that New York has to offer. One of my favorites is a pretzel. There are also Indian and Chinese food, ice cream, and many more. I love grabbing a pretzel or a nice cold ice cream on those hot days.
Lastly, desserts! I love desserts from all over New York. And the good thing about New York, is that since there are a whole bunch of different cuisines, there is something for everyone! My favorite desert place to go is serendipity. It doubles as a restaurant with main meals and desserts. I went there once and it was sooooo good. I got their signature frozen hot chocolate and it was the best thing I have ever had. I will say that it is very rich and their portions are very big, so you will get full pretty quick.
Now that we have made it through all of this information, time for some triviaaaaaaaa. Here are some food related trivia questions.
- Which New York food is traditionally sold with the phrase “You want mustard and sauerkraut?”
Hot dogs
- What dessert, now found worldwide, was popularized in NYC by Jewish bakeries?
Cheesecake
- Which food card item became a late night staple for club-goers and night-shift workers alike?
Pizza slices
And we will be right back
And we are back

Segment 3: Japan
Cece: Lastly, let’s take a drive to Japan! I think that the best place we talked about was Japan. It had so much variety in its foods, and it was such an amazing place to visit when I went in the winter of 2022.
- What I especially liked about the foods were the Shabu Shabu japanese dishes.
- Shabu Shabu are those restaurants where there are hot pot dishes and you can cook your own thinly cut meat, tofu, as well as vegetables, inside of this “broth” like soup.
- Another popular and one of my favorite dishes in Tokyo is ramen.
- Ramen is a bowl of broth, or soup, with noodles, either crispy or rice noodles, in the broth, with vegetables, and tofu.
- I also loved Sushi - Rolls of rice, veggies, and fish/meat and dipped in soy sauce, wasabi, and/or ginger. There are both meat rolls as well as vegetarian rolls.
Tempura was also super good, as well as Tonkatsu and Takoyaki.
Also, my favorite restaurants so far could include Ichiran, and Hibiki. As well as, the best experiences so far were the cat cafes, grocery stores, and even the pharmacies!
Japan was one of the best places that I've ever gone to and that we talked about, and I am so happy that we could include it in this episode! So now, time for some trivia!!
*Crickets sound or Car Horn*
What fast-food item was popularized in Japan during Christmas? KFC fried chicken.
